Toolkit: Rethinking environmental responsibility in public programming

Toolkit: Rethinking environmental responsibility in public programming

Reduce the environmental impact of your learning, outreach and public programmes with this toolkit

Looking for guidance on how to embed environmental sustainability in your public programmes?

From finding language that resonates with local audiences, to thinking about the life cycle of materials and connecting with local partners – this toolkit will equip your museum or gallery with useful skills, knowledge and resources so that you are able to initiate and facilitate climate conversations, making this global issue locally tangible.

In partnership with the Design Museum, Art Fund has produced this resource to support museum professionals to ask the right questions at the right time, adopt a greener approach to developing programmes, and impactfully communicate with participants and local audiences on the climate crisis.

This downloadable toolkit provides practical tips and guidance on including your colleagues, collaborators and audiences in these conversations and selecting materials with a lower environmental impact.
