Do you have a story that needs to be told, an experience to be shared, an image to be shown?
Welcome to ExhibitX, THE place where people are surprised by an experience every month. Additionally, we are committed to strengthening and promoting new voices in spatial, exhibition, and (immersive) experience design. ExhibitX is a place where people discover stories, bring friends and family, and gain inspiration. We are always looking for fresh ideas. If you have a good idea, send it to us! Read the following carefully and make sure you have thought about the points below before submitting your plan.
What is the ExhibitX Open Call?
This call is an open application procedure for designers, storytellers, and curators who wish to be considered for an exhibition at ExhibitX. We are launching in 2026 and distinguish ourselves by surprising the visitor (each month is different, and visitors do not know in advance what they will see/experience) and through a strong narrative approach. We love being the “host” of stories that matter, inspire wonder, inform, move, make you laugh, and/or make you look at the world differently.
Designers/organizations are invited to present their work within the ExhibitX program. We evaluate the submitted material throughout the year.
Conditions for participation
Technical and practical requirements
Your idea does not need to be fully developed yet. A rough sketch is sufficient. However, the following preconditions apply:
- Maximum floor area of 500sqm and no more than 4.5 m ceiling height required
- To be set up and dismantled within 24 hours
- Actively considered circular materials, CO₂ footprint, and accessibility
- Original work — no plagiarism
- The submitter must be at least 18 years old and in possession of all necessary rights to the submitted material
- ExhibitX employees and their family members are excluded from participation
What are we looking for?
What kind of experiences are we looking for? Form counts at least as much as the story
We are not just looking for good stories. The creative form is at least as important. We look to see if the concept contains a story of me, a story of us, and a story of now. Think broadly: virtually anything is possible.
Immersive worlds | Soundscapes | Tactile environments | Olfactory journeys | Kinetic spaces | Projection mapping | Philosophical experiences | Data visualizations | Cabinets of curiosities | Participatory rituals | Hidden histories | Dream landscapes | Playgrounds | Reflection journeys | Pop-up micro-worlds | Future exploration | Witness stories | Scientific labs
And so on →
