Aberdeen Archives, Gallery & Museums (AAGM) is seeking to commission an artist(s) to produce new work for SPECTRA Festival of Light 2025. The piece will be displayed in Aberdeen Art Gallery’s Sculpture Court for the duration of the festival before being accessioned into the city’s museum and gallery collections.
The commission will build on 2024’s successful SPECTRA collaboration with artists Heinrich and Palmer, resulting in the large-scale projection ‘Winds of Change’, inspired by Aberdeen’s rich maritime past, present and future.
Artist’s brief:
To propose an artwork that responds to the city of Aberdeen, fits within the Spectra festival programme, and is suitable for accessioning into the museum and gallery collections.
