Dr. Mya-Rose Craig  – ‘Birdgirl’ – to Keynote at Exhibitions Connect 2026

The Exhibitions Group is excited to announce that Dr. Mya-Rose Craig will be the keynote speaker at Exhibitions Connect 2026, taking place on April 28, 2026, at the Millennium Gallery, Sheffield. Dr. Craig, a renowned birder, environmentalist, and race activist, is dedicated to advocating for equal access to nature, combating biodiversity loss, and addressing climate change. 

Known as Birdgirl, Dr. Craig’s inspiring journey highlights her connection to nature amidst personal challenges. She started her Birdgirl blog at age 11, founded Black2Nature at 14, and became the youngest person to see half the world’s bird species by 17. Her work emphasizes critical issues such as fighting palm oil and plastic pollution while championing the rights of indigenous peoples.

Exhibitions Connect 2026 promises an enriching day filled with valuable networking opportunities, knowledge sharing, and innovative partnerships within the exhibitions sector.

The event will also host a range of exhibition stands hosted by organisations working in the exhibitions sector, and during lunch delegates will have the option to participate in a selection of curator-led tours, with plenty of opportunities to network built into the day’s programme.

About Dr Mya-Rose Craig

Mya-Rose Craig is a birder, environmentalist and race activist campaigning for equal access to nature, to stop biodiversity loss and climate change and to ensure global climate justice.

‘Birdgirl’ tells the story of Mya-Rose Craig, who found solace in nature while growing up with a mother with severe bipolar disorder. She started her Birdgirl blog at age 11, launched Black2Nature at 14, and at 17, became the youngest person to see half the world’s bird species and receive an honorary Doctorate of Science.

Mya-Rose also connects people to nature so that they care about fighting the climate crisis. She campaigns against palm oil and plastic pollution and fights for the prioritisation of the human rights of indigenous peoples.
