3. Our promise to our members

The Exhibitions Group is a charity, and our members are at the heart of what we do. In return for your membership, we commit to:

  • Deliver on what you’ve signed up for.

We will provide the benefits attached to your membership category clearly, reliably and in good faith, and tell you in good time if anything about them is changing.

  • Be fair and proportionate.

We will treat volunteer-led, small, medium and large members fairly and appropriately to their size and circumstances, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach.

  • Act with transparency.

We will be open about how membership fees are set and used, publish them clearly, and let you know of any changes in good time before they take effect.

  • Put the sector first.

We will use membership income responsibly, balancing the financial resilience of the organisation with meaningful impact for the exhibitions sector, in line with our Ethical Income Policy.

  • Shape a genuine community.

We will create opportunities for members to connect, collaborate and learn from one another, not just consume a service.

  • Champion inclusion and accessibility.

We will work to ensure our activities, resources and communications are accessible, and that members from all backgrounds feel welcome and valued.

  • Share knowledge generously.

We will provide guidance, resources and expertise to support your professional practice, and make training and development genuinely useful and relevant.

  • Listen and respond.

We will welcome feedback, take complaints seriously and handle them fairly under our Complaints Policy, without it automatically affecting your membership status.

  • Be responsible with your data.

We will handle your personal information responsibly and in line with our Privacy Policy and UK data protection law.

  • Communicate honestly.

We will let you know in good time about any changes to these terms, to membership categories, or to fees, rather than springing changes on you.
