Join this live training to learn how to reduce the environmental impact of temporary and touring exhibitions.   You’ll discover practical strategies, explore a real-life case study, and gain confidence in making environmentally informed decisions.  The training covers all key areas of the Rethinking Touring Exhibitions Toolkit, from partnerships and procurement to transport, design and advocacy, to show you what’s within your sphere of influence and how to take action.  This training will support you to be empowered to drive positive change in your organisation and the wider museum sector.

Led by an experienced TEG Trainer, this training will:

  • use the Rethinking Touring Exhibitions Toolkit as its basis
  • help organisations to reduce the environmental impact of temporary and touring exhibitions
  • enable sector colleagues to recognise their influence by embedding environmental responsibility into their work
  • support organisations to know how to work more collaboratively with colleagues and contractors towards agreed sustainability goals and ambitions

This live training taking place over two sessions on Zoom:

Wednesday 14 January 2026, 10:00 – 12:30

Wednesday 22 January 2026, 10:00 – 12:30

Booking closes at 12:00 on Friday 9 January 2026.

Taking place over two online sessions via Zoom, participants will have the opportunity to work as a whole group and in small groups in breakout rooms, with time for discussions and peer sharing and learning.

This virtual training is interactive and delivered by an experienced TEG trainer.  The number of participants is limited to facilitate online learning and participation.  Each session is recorded and made available to participants (unedited and not available to download) for one week after the training finishes.  The slides and training materials are sent to participants once week in advance of the training starting.

Automated closed captions are provided as standard on Zoom.  Live closed captions and/or BSL can be provided if requested 3 weeks in advance of the first training session.

Please book one place per person, even if colleagues choose to join from the same computer.

We run each of our virtual trainings once a year.  After this training in winter 2026, we next anticipate running this training in winter 2027.
