The Exhibitions Group is pleased to announce that for the fourth year, long-term Corporate members Momart and Constantine are co-supporting five bursaries for first-time Exhibitions Connect attendees.
These places are for people who face barriers to developing a career in the exhibitions sector due to ethnicity, disability, socio-economic background and gender identity or sexual orientation (LGBTQIA+).
These bursaries are part of The Exhibition Group’s inclusive development as an Arts Council England Investment Principles Support Organisation (IPSO).
Bursary recipients will receive:
- A free individual delegate place to attend Exhibitions Connect on Tuesday 28 April at the Millennium Gallery, Sheffield
- Up to £180 towards travel/accommodation costs.
Previous bursary recipients said:
“ I found the bursary very useful – it opened many opportunities to network with so many people from within this sector, that came from all over the UK and further afield. I got to meet first hand so many museum professionals, heritage-based organisations, museums, and freelancers across the day that I have begun building links with, which has broadened both my professional and personal online presence.
During the whole event, I felt seen, I mattered and was never left to feel alone, whether it was getting coffee, walking through the stands, in the lecture theatre or mingling at lunch, I felt that my place at the event was valuable. The range of professionals I spoke with made it even more inspiring, so many like-minded people, all who had as much passion for the sector as I did.” – Klara Sroka
“Receiving a bursary to attend the exhibition was an invaluable opportunity. The day gave me meaningful insight into the challenges within this part of the sector and offered a chance to hear more about what is happening across the rest of the UK. I particularly valued the opportunity to network with others, share my own experiences and hopes for the future, and learn more about sustainable practices being adopted in different regions. It was an inspiring and motivating experience that broadened both my perspective and my professional connections.” – Indigo Dunphy
