If you’re new to receiving or producing UK touring exhibitions, this is the training for you!

Spaced over 2 x 3-hour online sessions over consecutive weeks, this online course is aimed at individuals and organisations who have just started, or wish to start, producing and/or receiving local, regional and national UK touring exhibitions.

It provides basic level skills and knowledge for receiving, creating and managing UK touring exhibitions, and is an opportunity to network with other professionals interested in temporary, touring and partnership exhibitions.

COURSE: Artistic Commissioning

This brand-new training from The Exhibitions Group has been developed in response to sector needs for guidance on commissioning and delivering projects and installations in collaboration with artists and creative practitioners.

The online training enables participants to look in-depth at why and how you might commission a contemporary artist to create new work as part of a temporary exhibition or touring project.

Through vibrant discussion, knowledge sharing and presentations of case studies and examples of good practice; different creative approaches to artistic commissioning will be explored.

The roles and responsibilities of the commissioner and artist will be outlined and participants will be given an opportunity to discuss benefits and risks associated with this type of work as well as talking through any issues or complications that can arise when working on complex partnership commissioning projects.
